Anne + Patrick’s Vancouver Island Wedding
October 18, 2017 | Destination Wedding
It was a pleasure to be Anne and Patrick’s Qualicum Wedding Photographer for their beautiful ocean side wedding on Vancouver Island. Anne’s parents have a summer home just outside of the small town of Qualicum Beach and Anne and Patrick’s wedding celebration was set to unfold in the backyard of the family summer home overlooking the Strait of George and the islands of Texada and Lasqueti.
The day began with Anne and her beautiful bridesmaids getting ready in her parents’ bedroom while looking on to Patrick and his groomsmen preparing the backyard for the day’s festivities. The weather was perfect with excitement in the air. In addition to being a doctor, Patrick is a skilled wood worker and had crafted a few of the wedding detail pieces.
As the ceremony was close to kicking off, the groomsmen went inside to get ready. Patrick walked his mom down the aisle to her seat and waited in front of the wedding guests to see his beautiful bride walk down the aisle with her dad. After the ceremony we traveled to some incredible picturesque locations around the Island including Qualicum Beach. We made it back to the family summer home just in time for the reception
Friends and family offered some humorous speeches followed by a toast to the bride and groom. You could see large cruise ships sailing by in the distance. Absolutely beautiful! As sun began to set the tent lanterns lights kicked on as Anne and Patrick had their first dance as a married couple. Guests partied on until all hours of the night to the music of Michael Jackson and Bruno Mars.
Thank you Anne and Patrick for the opportunity to be your Qualicum Wedding Photographer for your beautiful destination wedding on Vancouver Island. And thank you to the Driftwood Island Retreat for being so accommodating during our stay in the Qualicum area.
